New Building

The new building is named in tribute to one of Britain's most acclaimed artists, Wakefield born sculptor Dame Barbara Hepworth.

A bespoke gallery, will display the unique gift of 30 of Barbara Hepworth's original plaster sculptures, donated by the Hepworth Family Trust.

The building has been designed to a high quality standard to enable The Hepworth Wakefield to bring the work of major artists to West Yorkshire.

Visitors and users of The Hepworth Wakefield will be offered a wealth of opportunities to get involved with a lively programme of exhibitions, activities and events.
