Hepworth Gallery

When Hepworth died in 1975 she left over 30 sculptures, mostly in plaster but also in metal and wood, in her studio in St Ives.

These vary in size from small ‘table top’ pieces to very large structures such as the 20-foot high model for ‘Winged Figure’, 1961.

A few are painted to look like bronze sculptures and there are some in aluminium, including the first version of the dramatic ‘Construction (Crucifixion)’, 1967.

The Trustees of the Hepworth Estate have presented this remarkable, and up until now rarely seen, collection to The Hepworth Wakefield and these are displayed in this specially designed space.
