Wakefield and Yorkshire in Pictures

This gallery highlights the richness of Wakefield’s topographical collection. 

It provides an opportunity for visitors to appreciate how the architecture and the urban and rural landscape of Wakefield, the surrounding district and the Yorkshire region has evolved from the late 17th century to the present day.

Within this display, are selections form the Gallery’s invaluable but rarely seen Gott Collection.

This unique collection includes over 1,000 prints, watercolours, sketches and maps and plans (some very rare) of the architecture and topography of Yorkshire between the 17th and 19th centuries.
