The ‘Secret Garden and Garden Safari’ is an extremely popular summer activity for children under 12.
Over the summer holidays, families can visit Wakefield Art Gallery, and can borrow a safari backpack filled with crayons, pencils, binoculars, and activity booklet. This activity encourages families to explore the sculptures in the gallery garden, and is a fun way to spend the day. Many families bring a picnic and spend the whole day at the gallery.
It is hoped that the activity will continue at The Hepworth Wakefield, in the new garden.
