Working with professional sculptor and artist David Mayne, children were encouraged to create their own sculptures from a variety of different materials.
The children used aluminium foil, wire, clay and thread to create their own works of art inspired by those they had seen at Wakefield Art Gallery. The children, exploring different techniques and ideas, created abstract shapes, figures, flowers and faces.
Some of these sculptures will be seen in the summer exhibition at Wakefield Art Gallery, displayed in their own individual exhibition spaces.
