The Hepworth Wakefield are currently seeking to recruit an Estates Technician, a Visitor Services Manager and a Development Officer. These posts are employed by the Hepworth Wakefield Operating Trust and is provided with Trust terms and conditions of employment, which include:

Estates Technician
Full-time 37 hrs
Salary c £20,000-21,500, dependant upon experience and qualifications.
We are seeking an experienced buildings technician to care for our iconic building and its infrastructure, supporting the Estates Manager on-site to operate and maintain the range of mechanical, electrical and additional systems and equipment installed, essential to the smooth and successful running of the gallery.
The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of skills and experience in key ‘trades’ areas, and in particular should have a good standard of technical awareness and be qualified to 17th Ed. Wiring Regulations as well as holding a relevant, recognised vocational qualification (BTEC / NVQ etc). Experience in maintaining public access buildings to the highest standard of presentation and of working with technologically advanced, integral M&E systems would be desirable. Good communications abilities will be important as the role will involve supervising the work of contractors on-site. Keeping and maintaining the records systems up to date and using the computerised Buildings Management System will be an essential part of the job too, so some IT skills will also be important. Flexibility in this role will be essential, the building operates across the week so some occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Visitor Services Manager
Full-time 37 hrs
Salary c 32,500, dependant upon experience.
We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced Visitor Services Manager, to help launch and operate this prestigious new gallery, the largest purpose built gallery outside of London.
Candidates should possess a passion for delivering the highest quality of visitor experience combined with experience in running successful income generating services. You’ll be a great people person, with well developed soft-skills, a talent for leadership and in motivating exceptional performance from your teams. The Visitor Services Manager ensures that The Hepworth Wakefield is a must-visit, must-return-to venue, a vibrant, inviting and welcoming social-hub for the waterfront development, offering a lively and interesting day out for all visitors.
Working closely with the Head of Operations & Business, the VSM will provide the key input in planning and shaping the entire visitor services operation for the gallery as it prepares to launch in May ’11. This is clearly the critical role in helping to establish the right cultures and attitudes for the front of house offer, connecting and extending these directly with The Hepworth Wakefield’s core values and brand identity aspirations.
You will help to set and deliver the trading targets for retail and catering businesses and play a key role in establishing a successful events and conferencing operation within the gallery.
You will oversee supervisors and set up working arrangements to ensure that a responsive and listening VS operation is in place and that standards across your operations are improving all the time, maintaining and improving efficiency and effectiveness wherever possible. You’ll also take care to ensure that all routine and internal support services, such as reception and telephony support, opening up / locking down are effectively provided by Gallery Assistants.
Organising and delivering duty management services, recruiting, inducting, leading and inspiring the Supervisors and Gallery Assistants to provide a high quality visitor experience will be an important outcome for you.
You will ensure that rotas are developed and administered for all front of house and visitor facing roles and taking part in the duty management rota will mean that a degree of regular weekend and evening working is a requirement of the post.
The VSM will take the lead in managing the safety and well-being of all visitors to the gallery and will drive the risk assessment and safety management regime for all front of house operations.

Development Officer
Full-time 37 hrs
Salary £19,500 – £21,000, dependant upon experience.
We are seeking to appoint a talented and experienced Development Officer to help build a sustainable support base for this prestigious new gallery and deliver the highest standard of donor stewardship to individuals, businesses and charitable trusts and foundations.
The Development Officer supports the Head of Development in all aspects of capital and revenue fundraising, including: preparing proposals for potential funders; tracking progress and keeping excellent records; processing donations; and ensuring excellent and consistent stewardship. As a key member of a small team, you will have ample opportunity for face-to-face contact with supporters and Trustees through the development and management of small events and tours. There is also scope for you to make a significant contribution to the formation of supporter groups, the production of promotional material and the implementation of first-class stewardship policies. You will enjoy a high profile within the gallery as a public-facing team member, working occasional evenings and weekends as required by the post.
Candidates should possess a passion for the arts and arts fundraising combined with experience of working in a successful fundraising environment, preferably in a role focused on trusts and foundations. You will be a pro-active and positive person with outstanding communication skills and an excellent eye for detail. Strong organisation and planning abilities along with a nose for research will make you a superb all-rounder.
